It is interesting to note that our eyes develop a certain symptom during childhood when one eye "refuses" to see and only the other strong eye sees fully. We know it by the term Lazy Eye syndrome, or Amblyopia. This
eye malfunction begins before the age of six when traumatic events or underdeveloped vision makes one eye less functional than the other. If not treated early, amblyopia can lead to one-eye blindness. However there are various treatments to prevent this problem from exacerbating.
Treatments range from the least pervasive such as applying
eyepatches to force the other "lazy" eye to see to the most such as surgery. Some doctors recommend contact lenses and
custom eyeglasses to remedy this vision problem.
