I was browsing on the net when I found this site that says eye twitches are mostly harmless. Please don't listen to that crappy advise. Let me tell you about my mom's awful experience.
Her left eye had been twitching for over a year now. We went to an
eye specialist to have it checked and the doctor confirmed that it was a case of eye twitching due to muscle spasm (let's diss the medical term for a while). He said that there's no exact cure, and to make it worse, it may lead to a permanent facial spasm. She was prescripted with Vitamin B for the nerves and an eye drop. She inquired about therapy and the doctor could only shrug saying that some therapies may help, but nothing is an assurance. It depends on the patient's response.
More stressed out, she took her vitamins and drops. She even went to see a specialist in reflexology and body massage. Months after, hope drifted from her clutch as nothing worked at all. It's all an exercise of futility.
She sought a second opinion from her insurance doctor. The doctor advised her to undergo Botox treatment. Although it may help stop twitching, Botox may sometimes paralyze the muscles. My mom weighed the risk and refused the liberated option. Her last resort was the herbal medicine. She uses this miracle oil. It worked in some cases of stomach ache and dry cough, but not on her eye spasm. Despite the frustrations, she still kept her hopes high and went to electro therapy where she met a woman with the same condition. The woman went through the Botox treatment but failed to do wonders. She even had one of those facial braces to add to her shame.
So next time your eyes start to twitch, heed its warning as early as possible. Unload that stress and take care of your eyes. Don't take
too much caffeine. Relax and take a break from your visual environment. I could only wish my mom had known this long before it got out of hand.
