
Admit it. Several parents don't realize the importance of giving a
regular eye check-up for their children. Until a tumor as big as a coconut grow in the eye, they will not bring their children to appropriate physicians. I understand that sometimes, financial limitation is an issue for every parent in giving their children proper eye examinations. However, we cannot solve the increasing rate of eye or vision problems among our children if we will not provide proper and regular eye exams in their early age.
Actually, experts advise that we should have a complete vision or eye examination every 1 to 3 years, depending on the condition and age of the person. However, children must be provided with more extensive eye care because there are several potential eye threats that can lead their eyes to
poor vision, or worst, vision loss. According to study, 1 in 20 preschool kids are suffering from eye problem. Minor problems can lead to more serious eye illness if left untreated. Thus, it is proper that children even without any eye problem must be given regular eye check-ups to avoid risk of developing eye diseases. But children with high risk of getting poor eye condition must see an eye doctor at least once a year.
